Why with cars 2+ exhaust pipes they make a vrrrroooom noise?

Percy Seiger: They pay to have the exhausts modified, flowmaster, glas paks, that type of thing. Really all it does is make a 4 banger and a v-6 sound like its farting.

Blythe Noreiga: Exhaust pipes do NOT regulate the level of sound,they have a very limited impact on sound in fact.It is other things,like mufflers that regulate the quality and level of sound.Those cars are faster and make a louder,more sport noise,simply because car manufacturers tend to give us a clue about their more powerful cars with increasing the number of tail pipes,symbolizing the change in the car's engine! For example,a BMW M5 could as well work with just 2 tail pipes,with no noticeable difference in the sound produced.Yet,because BMW wants people to see that this is more powerful than a BMW 525i for example,they put quad exhaust pipes,so the car looks sportier and is distinctive! Also,cars which have two pipes don't necessarily have Nitrous Oxcide installed.Nitrous has not much to do with! the exhaust system.All that stuff you see in video games like flames coming out of the exhaust when Nitrous Oxcide kicks in is just an unrealistic effect.And,Nitrous Oxcide isn't injected whenever you want,at any time.That's a big lie!...Show more
