What is the cheapest rail journey across Canada?

Ruthe Real: The magical train on wheels --- The Greyhound Bus.

Carolin Southers: visit www.viarail.com for details

Wilburn Denice: VIA is the only option for cross-country.

Lilli Kochel: There are two trains from Vancouver to Banff ... Via Rail and the Rocky Mountaineer .. which is more expensive because it's a "tourist" type train. From Banff to the Maritimes it's Via Rail.Canada does not subsidize passenger rail service like the U.S. does, so it's much more expensive, although it's a lovely trip! I don't know that I would want to go across Canada without having a sleeper and access to showers .... When I priced such accomodations for two recently, it was $2,500 for one way (vancouver to halifax, double berth). Riding coach is cheaper, as is travel if one passenger is over 60.http://www.viarail.ca...Show more

Valentine Willinger: i would say via rail. i think it's the only one we have here:)
