It can dry your mouth and gums which can lead to dental and mouth issues. Companies just put alcohol in it to carry a flavor and feel a "zing" as if you've cleaned your mouth but it's worthless and can be harmful. Mouthwash in general is a waste of money. The white coating on tongues is often normal unless it's thick and that can be a condition called thrush. It can also ! be dehydration so drink more water if you don't drink much. Or if you take certain medicines like steroids for asthma, it can leave behind a coating. See link below. Sounds like you're too irritating your tongue, too, so don't brush too hard and just use toothpaste, salt water, baking soda or vinegar/water mix might also work better than mouthwash....
