Anton Waln: Very easy to do, I've never been to Vegas, but I've been to plenty of casino's where my money said bye-bye within an hour of me entering, its how the casino's make their money, all the games are designed to give the house an edge. What i do now is play blackjack, and thats it!! Blackjack is the only game that when simple strategy is employed can lean the odds more in youre favor. Plus whenever you play table games, you get free booze!!
Alexis Reyer: should be a little more careful w/ your money
Gaston Edgcomb: Doesn't ***ANYONE*** look at those outrageously extravagant Las Vegas casinos and ask themselves, "H-m-m-m, I wonder where they got all the money to build those ?!? "I always remember the old story my Dad used to tell me about the guy who drove to Las Vegas in a $50,000 Cadillac and rode home in a $150,000 Greyhound bus.My "gambling budget" is $5.00 a week on Lotto . . . and with my 40% win rate, I'd have to play for 1000 weeks before I lost ! the $3000 your buddy dropped in one night.Personally, I don't know why people even bother playing the "games" . . . it would be easier and a LOT less painful to just put all their money in an envelope, walk into the casino, hand the envelope to a pit boss and then go and see a show or have a nice quiet dinner with their family. . . ....Show more
Mozell Sponsler: you have GOT to set limits.the only one you set was your trip limit, $1200but you've got to set daily limits, and even session limits, and walk away when you reach them.if you're there for 3 days, that's $400 a day, make that 4 sessions of $100 each, or 3 sessions of $133 or whatever. then when you go to play, when you lose your $133 you leave that casino and go for a walk or watch the pretty dancing waters at bellagio or something else....Show more
Luke Kosch: All the time although I know spending extra $$$ on gambling means I need to cut back on other things later in the month. The worse was probably ! my trip to Vegas about a month ago. My GF and I must have dro! pped close to $3k gambling over 4 days. This is for someone who normally spends about $500 gambling for the entire trip. We were celebrating a special occasion so we let loose a little. Okay maybe not a little bit because we went overboard. $14k? I sure hope that was money he won in Vegas not what he brought with him. If so, then I hope he has deep pockets otherwise I would suggest that he gets some help....Show more
Virgilio Echter: Mr. Belem, I feel your pain. While I haven't lost my whole bankroll in one night I know others who have. In fact, they drove all the way to Nevada, gambled the first night until they lost it all and didn't even have money for a room so drove back to California! So, gambling does take money management and control. It is easy to win a little and lose a lot. Just think of it as a lesson. If you don't learn from it then you have a serious problem because gambling can be a very expensive habit....Show more
Kip Ockenfels: To c! larify: I lost my 'gambling budget' on my first night. I later recovered approx. $400 using my sacrificed, 'lunch money'. Also to correct, my buddy was up (won) $17k and ended up down $3k. That's a $20k swing! I believe once you've won, the money is YOURS. So, he lost $20k.
Gabriel Realmuto: I do not gamble because I am not an ignoramus. Therefore I do not need a gambling budget.
Paul Maymi: You have to treat it as entertainment and budget accordingly. You started off OK by setting a total budget for the trip. Next you have to set a daily limit. My wife and I have been to Vegas every year, for the last 5 years, and are going again Oct 11. Our stay is always 7 days, and we set ourselves a daily budget......for gambling, food, and shows...150.00/day each. If we lose that, we go to the room and watch TV, until the next day. We have never gone to our room hungry. We fly to Vegas to have fun, and don't expect to come back home with any of that money. One year we ! came back with 800.00 of our 2100.00. In our view, that made us big wi! nners. As far anyone who thinks that people who gamble are stupid....We enjoy it. It's entertainment for us. I don't like golfing, but I don't consider golfers to be stupid. If they wish to spend thousands of dollars to chase a little ball around all day...that's their entertainment....Show more
