Sheree Hipwell: In hilly areas, soil conservation is very important, because rains, floods easily take the soil with them down to plain areas. In order to conserve soil, we need to grow more trees, so that the roots of the trees binds the soils in there roots and block them from flowing and getting loose. If the soil will not be conserved, then the land will be barren, will result in less rainfalls and can cause drought with other natural calimity as well.I think this will help....Show more

Lashawnda Anteby: well, plants! need soil for nutrients. these nutrients help them grow and nurish themselves. without a soil rich environment, plants would not be able to survive. If there was no plants, there would be nothing to perform photosynthesis and heterotrophs, which are plant eaters would not get any nutrients, so they would die off as well, and the whole circle of life would be ruined. And that is why soil is so important
