define family; your family + pets?

Rose Krouse: We have 3 children, ages 13, 9 and 6. We adopted an 8 year old Chocolate Lab. This dog had never been around kids, yet she immediately became their best playmate. She takes turns sleeping in everyone's beds at night and is always up for a game of fetch - indoors or out. Labs have a reputation for being great family oriented dogs. As for breeds that wouldnt do well with kids, I can't say from experience, but I would hesitate to bring one of the stronger breeds into a family.
