Abby Herwood: What about those poor little children getting caught in the cross-fire?Don't play, play. All for the glory of a one man's own great dreams in kicking the butts of God with glory of idol worshiping the dead Mummy of failures and horrors of the past.Luke 9.25Do they want to go and live in caves.Have to carry buckets of water for food and drinks.Even have to miss all the Bollywood show without electricity.Have to survive with candle lights if any.Food will be hard to come by.Even have to look for scraps too.Planting will take quite sometime. When the tummy is growling.Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49What do you think?
Bernadette Roel: Wow do you guys know that not every home schooled kid is a unsocial loner! I chose home schooled because I was sick of my dumb *** teachers not helping me with a god damn thing! So I chose to go to another school were I only have to go once a week and teach myself. It has worked out so much better than my traditional school and I am p! roud of it. So screw you guys if you think home schooled kids are not good enough for the military!
Robt Betker: Yes, I think it is foolish to wait any longer than RIGHT NOW. The longer we wait, the better prepared the Iranians will be and the more difficult our struggle. They are doing everything they can do provoke us and it is time to answer their call.
Cyndy Grimes: i took the asvab a while ago and i got my results i want to know what kind of jobs or careers i can into for the air force!verbal 65math 64science 64general 66arithmetic 67word 62paragraph 67mathematics 59electronics 62auto 52mechanical 59
Jesse Pirieda: But why is it okay for us to have these weapons but nobody else? We have enough of hem right now to destroy the earth 400 times over. Why?? If that's not WOMD - then what is??
Rosella Figliola: It would require a ground invasion after the air assault and the casualties would be heavy for both us and Israel. But not yet. Iran is just ! creating more enemies in the world community and digging its o! wn grave..
Omar Phipps: Whether or not you are accepted being home schooled really depends on several factors. Granted, some people who didn't come up in a traditional high school don't do well in the military. But at the same time, some people who didn't finish high school did great. I had Soldiers who had associates degrees who were chaptered out within their first year in the Army. I also had a CSM who retired at 30 years but entered the Army with a GED. I don't play that game where I lump all people who didn't get a traditional high school diploma in the same area and call them unfit for the military. The fact of the matter is is that the Army usually looks at being home schooled as a Tier 2, which is similar to a GED. Does that mean you can't enlist? Not exactly. What has to happen is that everything you have done so far with your schooling has to be given to the recruiter. From there, the recruiter's station commander forwards it up to his battalion educ! ation specialist and they will evaluate it. Depending on the evaluation, you will come out as either a Tier 1 (High School Grad, HS Senior, or 15+ semester hours of college) or a Tier 2 (GED, Special Education, etc...).If you are considered a Tier 1 then you can enlist right away. If you're considered a Tier 2 then you will need to enroll into a local or online college that has 100-level courses and get 15 semester hours of college. If you enroll into a physical class you can enlist as soon as you are enrolled as long as you get a school letter stating when you will have 15 semester hours accumulated. Your ship date won't be until after you finish your last class and if you don't finish your classes your contract will be voided. If you use an online class you must wait until you complete your 15 semester hours before you can enlist, meaning you'll have to wait longer before you can enlist....Show more

Jed Porada: Depends on your tax bracket. Bonus payment! s by law are taxed at the highest tax bracket, 27% and SS and Medicare also taken out, no matter how much you actually make. About 1/3 total. If you are avg person in military you are somewhere between 10-15% tax bracket. When you file your return for last year, you will see some of it come back to you, not all of it. To many variables, depending on your tax situation and deductions. Both answers above are partially right and wrong.
Logan Bero: Well, i'm sure you could get in if you apply yourself and get a additional 15 college credits just like those who have a ged have too to do. I honestly think its a insult to ones intelligence, and that if someone wants to serve.. just let them.-Lava PerroMy friends uncle was a GED recipient and took the ASVAB and produced a higher score than those who had a highschool diploma. I just believe that it is a insult to ones intelligence, but then again does in matter how smart you are if your a marine?.....Show more
Lucien Hel! lerman: I bet if you talked to a different recruiter you would get a totally different answer. The army takes anyone, even high school drop-outs, so it doesn't make much sense for them not to accept home schooled kids.
Jeannine Vassie: harder to gauge whether someone who was home schooled possesses the necessary social interaction skills to be a good soldier. Intelligence they could do tests for but the social interaction is much harder to measure. There opinion could be as a result of stereotyping but several home schooled people have had much more difficulty in a group setting.
Adam Momaya: it would not be a full fledged attack without a ground invasion. it would be a limited attack otherwise.however to answer your question no i don't think it's time for that.
Pearlie Medora: You need to get registered with the local school district and find out how to receive a diploma from them even while you are home schooled. Requirements will vary with each distric! t. Ignore all the other reasons about "having social problems", that ha! s nothing to do with it. All they want is for you to have proof of education from a recognized source. If all else fails, register for classes at the local community college and you can enlist once you have 15 credits. (If tuition is an issue, go to the financial aid office and they can hook you up with federal grants, not loans, to pay for it).Sounds like the Army recruiter does not know his job or does not care. Go to another branch, the Army and Navy are the worst to join.send me a message if you have any other questions,...Show more
Verena Koop: That's a good question. I think it's important to tell kids that war is serious business. It should always be the very last option. But is it wise to say that war should NEVER be an option? I don't think so, and I think history supports my opinion on this. Look what happened in the late 1930s, with Neville Chamberlain appeasing Hitler. Hitler was appeased in exchange for his promise not to invade any more of Europe. We kno! w what happened, of course. Hitler went off to invade a lot more of Europe, touching off the deadliest war in human history. The history of appeasement shows us that it invariably leads to the very violence and suffering that it was intended to avoid -- and often in much greater numbers than it would have been. War is never a good thing, of course, but there have been times when it has become our only option. What's more, there have been times when war has served a noble purpose. Back to World War II again. What stopped Hitler's expansion? What stopped him from killing Jews? What stopped the Japanese from invading half of Asia? What stopped them from committing horrible atrocities in Nanking, Shanghai, the Philippines, and elsewhere? Military action did -- after everything else had failed. Look at Iraq. Are Iraqis better off with Hussein out of the way? Of course they are! Twelve years of diplomacy and 16 UN resolutions did nothing to stop that monster. Only military interv! ention did. When I was in the Navy, trust me, the last thing I or any o! f my fellow servicemen and servicewomen wanted was a war. Nobody, as General MacArthur said, despises war more than the soldier (or the sailor, airman, or marine). But let's face it, we live in a world where at different times in history, very bad people have come into power in certain countries and have done very, very bad things. Some of these people have been quite mad -- and we can see it even now in places like Venezuela, North Korea, Iran,, and Cuba. And often, nothing else works with these guys....Show more
Sylvie Snetting: I think its about time Iran released a full fledge attack on D-heads like you stupid. What has Iran done now wanka?
Lorelei Lilburn: So what if Israel gets wiped out, they aren't really an ally. We are only useful to them. The entire Middle East is a thorn in the side of the free world. Personally, I say let them fight each other with out any out side influence or assistance.Their hatred for each other is based loosely on religious view! s and practices. The Islamic nut-jobs stick Jihad on something and think they are justified in killing you and everyone you know. The Israelis pull out the "Jewish Persecution" card when they aren't getting their way. They seem to think that justifies them in killing everything non-Israeli.Let them have their precious little holy war. When they are done killing themselves, then the Western world can go in, clean things up, and give them some easy rules.
Thurman Buege: Hello "te-te"Are you kidding! Those withholding taxes are GONE. You won't have enough legal deductions to regain some of that big bonus.File your taxes and you will surely find out how little you will receive back as an overpayment.Don't file until April 1st. Go to the www.irs.gov website and order Publication 17 Your Federal Income Tax. This booklet will explain a process called Income Tax Averaging. You are allowed to average your taxes over a period or either 3 or 5 years when you get a large inc! rease in taxable income on a given year that is different than your ave! rage yearly income. This works well for people who get such bonuses like the military and lottery winners and etc.Best wishes,Larry SmithSenior Master Sergeant, USAF (Ret.)First Sergeant

Natalya Sydney: The following is from a USMC web site, but it applies to all branches.WHY DOES THE USMC NOT WANT GED HOLDERS WITHOUT COLLEGE CREDITS?--First off serving in the military is not your right. They do not have to let you serve. Look at it from their point of view. If you could not stick out four years of HS for whatever reason, then chances are very good you wont last four years in the military. The military is all about commitment and you not completing HS says something about you. This doesnât mean you are stupid or any less of a person, it only means the USMC has requirements and ! you donât qualify. And not letting straight GED holders into the USMC has nothing to do with intelligence, it has to do with commitment. Studies have proven that those with only GEDâs tend to not do so well in the military...Show more
Rivka Killmer: A ground invasion is not possible in Iran. Iran cannot be invaded because it has a poulation of over 80 million. Even their women can use guns and rockets
Marvel Mcaulay: I'll tell you why. We have a home schooled kid in my platoon right now whom is getting kicked out because he has trouble dealing with other people and communication and whom also never experimented with drugs in high school so started doing them in the army after finding out what weed was. They haven't adjusted to society the same. Most home schooled kids fail the personality test.
Tereasa Sorensen: Obviously the first poster doesn't know just how much they take out of our bonuses for taxes. My enlistment bonus was taxed at 27% - of cours! e I got most of that back cause I was just an E3 and of course my incom! e was so low that most of it was not taxable. You'll get a good portion of that taxed amount back in your refund depending on how much was taken in the first place and how much your overall income is.
Jose Bouliouris: and btw my afqt score was 92
Clay Lipira: Because who knows what your crazy parents taught you about civility and social contracts.
Karl Samiec: I dont know about you but honestly I am tired of hearing of Iran defying us and their arogant pursuit of WOMD. Not only are they supplying the terrorist in iraq, but are threatening our ally Isreal with threats claiming to wipe Isreal off the map. I believe it is time we show Iran that those who dare to defy the west, threaten our allies, deny the holocaust, support terrorist that are killing US troops, and already threatening to cause chaos if more sanctions are enforced because of their own arrogance. What are your thoughts? Put yourself in President Bush's shoes and take these into consideration:! would you allow Iran to gain nuclear weapons, Iran refuses to stop no matter what, so you cant talk your way out of itYou have the knowledge that if Iran gets nukes, they will sell it to some jihad group for some religious jibberish to use against the west or isreal. What would do?read this before answering:http://israelmatzav.blogspot.com/2007/08/can-and-w...

Luther Plagmann: I went to a Charter High School which was pretty much home schooling, I went to a class like once a week for a couple hours, and scored a 95 on the ASVAB, the recruiters never hassled me about it.
Jacques Vaquera: Nothing is ever solved by war, if you want peace then you need to talk, Washington needs dialogue with Tehran, also the US should really stop trying to force its views and way of life on other nations. I dont like Iran, but opening up a new war with Iran is very very very dangerous.after all, y! ou cant claim that the US is winning the war on terror, they have made ! it even worse!!
Lillie Yarde: The Army will take you as long as it meets certain requirements:For the Army - Home school graduates seeking to enlist in the Army need to meet the following criteria: Must possess a home school diploma and submit transcripts at the time of enlistment. The course work must involve parental supervision, the transcript must reflect the normal credit hours per subject used in traditional high school and the diploma must be issued in compliance with applicable state laws. Must score 31 or above on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test. Must take the Assessment of Individual Motivation (AIM) test, which is 20-minute pencil and paper test. The AIM test score is used to obtain data and does not affect qualification for enlistment. At a minimum, the last academic year (9 months) must be completed in a home school environment. Everyone else treats you as a GED holderHome schoolers enlisting in the Army have consistently score! d, on the average, as high as traditional public school graduates on the Armed Forces Qualification Test (AFQT). Elvie Drumgoole: Well first, Bush's source for his belief that Iran wants to build nukes is a terrorist organization in its own right, the MEK. They were part of the Iranian revolution. They got mad at the Iranian government because after the revolution, it threw them out. Then they walked over to Iraq and helped Saddam carry out his chemical attacks. This is Bush's source. Note that Bush has a history of believing literally any kind crank that comes along, as long as they're saying what he wants to believe. See "Curveball." Second, even if the Iranians DO want to build a! nuke, which is entirely possible, it is only speculation to suppose th! ey'd engage in the kind of rabid behavior you're assuming is inevitable, once they got it. Very paranoid speculation at that. Third, I doubt the US could get away with just doing a few air strikes. Land forces would inevitably have to get involved, likely a whole lot of them. Even if it were possible to destroy their sites solely with airstrikes, Iran would cause trouble throughout the region far exceeding anything Iraq was in any position to do. Then there's Russia and China. Not that I'm saying they'd come in on Iran's side or anything, but just how many trillions of borrowed military dollars do you think the US can afford to throw down this rathole, before those two start taking some real advantage?
