France followed Rousseau, which helped fuel their Revolution; the US followed John Locke.All other philosophies about man follow from the amount of freedom he has. Behaviorism, for example, didn't gain any popularity until the 1950s when the fed govt. had gained a lot of power not granted by the Constitution. And so one thing we found that was as the industrial revolution was possible because of freedom, charity increased to a point never before seen in the world; but after our implementation of the income tax, and especially after implementation of social security, charity was at an all time industrial low. Why bother, when you're going to be taxed to help people, anyway? The former high levels of charity did not increase until Hurricane Katrina.And now, Marxism in all its watered d! own forms (such as Obama and H.
